Festivities kicked-off by amateur soccer tournament and celebrity soccer game to benefit the Miami Project to Cure Paralysis
Miami Beach, FL–Volkswagen’s Sand Soccer Jam will rock South Beach’s Lummus Park on Saturday, October 27th, opening with an amateur soccer tournament featuring top teams. A celebrity charity soccer game featuring Fernando Fiore, Guillermo Barros Schelotto, and Luis Carlos Perea among others will follow. The event will be capped off by a live performance by the Grammy-winning band Ozomatli.
Volkswagen’s Sand Soccer Jam is the first promotion of its kind combining the entertainment genres of live Latin Rock music and a soccer tournament. The full day of activities includes DJ’s, live entertainment and features the VW Experience Pavilion. Pavilion visitors can view the 2008 VW models, listen to acoustic sets by Miami-based Latin rock bands Volumen Cero and Locos Por Juana, and register for an opportunity to win a Volkswagen First Act electric guitar.

Lummus Park Beach is located adjacent to Ocean Drive, Miami Beach, Florida, on the sand between 8th and 9th streets. The amateur soccer tournament begins at 10:00am, the charity celebrity game follows from 3:00pm to 4:00pm, and the tournament finals and live DJ start at 5:00pm. The day culminates with Ozomatli’s live performance from 6:00 to 7:00pm.
