Latin Pop’s Top Pianist Teams Up With Baldwin And Batanga.com For Piano Give-away
Arthur Wraps Up Week-long Puerto Rico Promotion Of “Piano Sin Fronteras” With 2 Packed In-Stores
April 6, 2009 — Leading pop pianist Arthur Hanlon has teamed up with Baldwin Pianos and Batanga.com for an innovative promotion that will allow a lucky music fan to take home a Hamilton Piano, by Baldwin. The give-away comes in the heels of Arthur’s successful, week-long promotion of his new album, “Piano Sin Fronteras,” in Puerto Rico, which took him to the top television and radio stations in the island and included two packed in-stores in San Patricio Mall and Plaza Las Americas.
The “Aprendamos a Tocar Piano con Arthur” (Let’s Learn How to Play the Piano With Arthur) promotion features Arthur in exclusive weekly spots that will run only in Batanga.com through Mid May. In each 3 minute spot, Arthur teaches music lovers how to play the piano. Lessons include blues, tumbao and chords, taught with Arthur’s distinctive style. Fans can also enter a contest to win a Hamilton/Baldwin piano by visiting www.batanga.com. This is the first time in Batanga’s history that the site gives away a piano to fans.
Arthur is currently promoting “Piano Sin Fronteras” (Piano With No Borders), featuring gorgeous solo tracks and duets with friends Juanes, Luis Fonsi, Laura Pausini, Ricardo Montaner, Alexandre Pires, Myriam Hernandez and Sergio Vallín, guitarist from Maná.
“We are eight artists, from eight different countries, joined by our common love for music,” he says. “It is truly music ‘without borders.’”
Tracklist ranges from the upbeat “Te Quiero Llevar,” with Fonsi and Arthur trading vocal and piano riffs; the soulful “Ya Te Olvide” with Montaner; Juanes’ distinctive guitar on “Lago Calima” and the solo piano and voice in “Prendo Te,” with Italy’s Laura Pausini.
“In this album Hanlon not only establishes himself as the best known Latin pop instrumentalist, but as the best.”
“A great pianist and simply a great musician at every level. He’s someone who draws you to his instrument with his positive vibe.”
“This is a real duet. The fact that there is only my voice, and his voice through his piano, make the song that much more meaningful and exciting. It is a true duet, just me and him, alone, doing something very artistic.”
“The Piano smiles at Arthur when it sees him.”
“Like Elton John, Hanlon has the ability to focus with laser-like precision on the melodic essence of a song and rework it to find new dramatism. Like Chris Botti, trumpeter for Sting, or rock guitarist Ottmar Liebert, Hanlon brings a broad range of guest artists to create fascinating albums.”
